John Carr, L.C.S.W
John C. Carr, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist practicing in Greenwich Village. He is a graduate of Hunter College School of Social Work and the Blanton-Peale Institute, where he completed his psychoanalytic training in Psychotherapy and Spirituality.
John maintains a private practice in Greenwich Village and also sees patients at The Counseling Center in Bronxville. In addition, he leads workshops for new parents at the Soho Parenting Center, Everyday Parenting, as well as schools, churches and mental health agencies in the Tri-State area. John specializes in working with fathers who want to raise emotionally healthy children; manage their anger; take better care of themselves and improve their marriage. John’s first book, part of the Great Expectations Series entitled Becoming a Dad: The First Three Years, was published in October 2010. The book is for new dads who want guidance and support in navigating the many practical and emotional challenges that come with fatherhood.
John lives in New York City with his wife and three children.
